The delivery of artwork, the reception, the juror’s critique, and the pickup of art will all happen at the Regions Bank-RSA Tower, 201 Monroe Street, Montgomery, AL, 2nd floor on the mezzanine level. Use the Monroe Street entrance to the RSA Tower for all pickup and deliveries. Proper ID is required to claim art work. Neither MAG nor Regions Bank can store art for this exhibition.

General Guidelines

  • Artists submit digital images of their work via the ArtCall online submission process.

  • The juror will select art for the exhibition from the digital images. He will select award winners after viewing the artwork at the Regions Bank.

  • Artists may enter no more than four works.

  • Size (height plus width plus depth) may not exceed 44 inches in height or width, including frame. Sculptures may not exceed 6’ x 4’ x 4’ (height x width x depth) including any base that is attached to a sculpture. Maximum weight is 150 pounds. Artists must make their own arrangements for works that require special hanging or placement (multi sectional works, etc.)

  • Art must be original and have been completed in 2017, 2018, or 2019. Artists may not substitute for accepted artworks once the juror has made his selections. No Gicleé reproductions of original art in another medium will be permitted. (For example, no Gicleé prints of oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc.)

  • Art must be finished, dry, framed or gallery wrapped, and suitable for display. Works must hang by a secured wire (no sawtooth, cloth, clothes hanger wire hangers ).
  • MAG or Regions Bank reserves the right to reject any submitted art that is deemed inappropriate for this exhibit.

  • Art must be labeled to match the information on the registration form, which will be used for the catalogue. Tags for your work may be given to you by MAG when you deliver your work to the bank.

  • Images of art selected for the show may be used for promotional purposes by MAG and/or Regions Bank.

  • All work not accepted in the Regions Bank Show will be eligible for the City Hall Gallery Exhibition.

Digital Images

  • Images should represent the art as accurately as possible.

  • Submit 1 image per two-dimensional entry; 2 images per sculpture entry.

  • The photo of your entry must be 300 ppi, in .JPG or .GIF format or .PNG format. The submission must be between 960 pixels and 4600 pixels on its longest side (that is, it can be no smaller than 960 pixels on its longest side, or no larger than 4600 pixels on the longest side). The maximum file size for an image is 4 mb.

  • All entries must be submitted at https://53rdannualregionsbankexhibition.artcall.org.

Participation in the 53rd MAG/Regions Bank Exhibition is only open to active members of the Montgomery Art Guild. If your membership is not current as of September 2019, you can join the guild and pay your $50 membership fee when submitting for the MAG/Regions Bank exhibition via ArtCall. Current members are listed on the roster of MAG at www.MontgomeryArtGuild.org. MAG membership provides advance notice of MAG exhibitions, member rates for exhibitions, invitations to workshops, and other benefits. Students must be current members of MAG and include a copy of current student ID with entry fee. The following Artist Information is required for your submission:

The following artwork information is required for each submitted artwork:

1. Title
2. Category
3. Medium
4. Date created (any work created before 2017 is not eligible for this exhibit)
5. Size (framed, in inches)

Awards

Up to $3,000 in Cash Awards.

Liability

Every precaution will be exercised in the handling of the entries. However, the Montgomery Art Guild and Regions Bank will not be responsible for any damage or loss.
Works must be claimed during pick up time on Friday, September 27, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. only. If unable to pick up work at the designated time, please contact Alisa Koch prior to September 27th. DO NOT CONTACT REGIONS BANK REGARDING PICK UP OF ARTWORK.
Proper I.D. is required of anyone picking up artwork.
 
Works claimed by someone other than the artist require a note with:

  • Title of the work

  • Name of the person picking up

  • Signature of the artist

Any unclaimed art after 5 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2019, becomes the property of the Montgomery Art Guild and will be donated to Jackson Hospital Healing Arts Program.

Sales

A 20% commission will be assessed by MAG on the sale of art in the exhibition. Prices will be printed in the catalogue. All art will be for sale unless otherwise designated. Artists are responsible for submitting sales tax to the State of Alabama. Please direct sales inquiries to Alisa Koch, Executive Secretary at 334-301-8180.
